Oversea's Pastoral Solidarity Switzerland

For over thirty years pastors of the Swiss Reformed Church have been donating to their colleagues of different protestant churches overseas. In September 2015 Overseas Pastoral Solidarity Switzerland became a registered association. Anyone contributing at least CHF 50 per year can become a member. A General Meeting is held bi-annually.

Who benefits?

Overseas Pastoral Solidarity Switzerland has set itself the following goals:

• Quick and unbureaucratic support for pastors, pastors’ families and church employees outside Europe in emergency situations.

• Support for pastors performing their duties in difficult conditions.

The use of the donations is accounted for in the Yearly Reports. (» Reports in German)

Who can apply for funds?

The applications must be backed by a church institution (church leadership and/or internationally recognized church agency, and/or pastors’ association) guaranteeing the credibility of the request.

Who decides on the application?

The board of directors decides according to the Guidelines. The members of the board are: Karl F. Appl, Doris Brodbeck, Bettina Lichtler, Hansueli Meier, Christian Zurbuchen.
